by Sita Devi
A vibrant village wedding procession fills the entire canvas with joyful celebration. The bride travels in an ornate doli (palanquin) carried by four men, surrounded by shehnai players, dhol drummers, women carrying kalash on their heads, children running alongside and elders showering flower petals from above. The outer border is a continuous chain of marigold flowers — the most auspicious flower at every North Indian celebration. The warm color palette — gold, saffron, vermillion and white — radiates the happiness of the occasion.
