by Baua Devi
A rich slice of everyday Bihar village life at the paddy harvest season. Women in bright sarees cut paddy with sickles in the foreground; men thresh grain on the threshing floor in the middle ground; children chase chickens near the village well; an old grandmother sits under a banyan tree spinning cotton. Cows and goats graze peacefully in the background while a row of mud houses with painted walls completes the scene. Painted with the warmth and humor of someone who has lived this life.
